Spent at least 2 months going thru the process of getting approval, showing pay stubs, taxes, paying money and doing the 8 hr course, multiple meetings, applications, getting approved by the loan officer, getting a realtor, so much work, stress and worry about buying a home. Just for them to see that my home address is 3 blocks outside city limits and deny us…. One of the things they should brought up at the very beginning of the process. Would’ve saved me so much time and stress.

Absolutely terrible communication whether it is by email, phone or mail. They will either ignore or just repeat the info/question you contacted them about originally. Links don’t work most of the time. I ended up getting more info on all of the Proud Ground details & qualifications from one of the approved mortgage lenders than Proud Ground itself. Unless you are 100% ready to throw down the $$ to buy a home that moment, they seem to ignore you. While the idea is great, I cannot recommend them if you’re just starting to look at housing or even have basic questions. Maybe I’ll try contacting them in the future when my income is higher but right now, I am so disappointed by the lack of respect and courtesy they give people.

They don't let disabled people into their program. They claim to not be discriminatory, but all the requirements for the program are impossible to meet when your disabled. Like they force you to have $5,000 in savings , which you're not allowed to do on SSI. They will take your income if you do that. They have work requirements, volunteer hr requirements, and no one ever gets back to you when you try to sign up. Also they recently just changed their policy to state you cannot owe ANYTHING AT ALL IN COLLECTIONS. idk any poor people at all who don't owe at least something. 😑This program is a lie. And discriminates against the disabled massively. I wish I had somewhere to report them to, but sadly no one would care. Since it's all voluntary, I guess they are allowed to discriminate against the disabled? Awesome.

I owe a lot to this organization. If you're considering selling your home, please consider their brokerage services. Proceeds go towards permanent affordable home ownership.

Bad customer service! These people here are so hard to reach it soo stupid, there no way to figure out who is running this place! Pround Ground is an unorganized non-profit group. None of links work, and none of the workers call you back.
