The quality of goods at this outlet location is great. Much better than anything else I’ve seen in/around Portland. Great clothes. Lots of interesting appliances and decent housewares.

We came from Seattle and here are some observations:

1. There is no timer or ‘hold’ on the bins when the place opens in the morning. In Seattle, they allow everyone inside the building, have them line up, and then give the green light to go all at once. Here, it’s a total free for all the second those doors open, which is a pretty annoying, and sometimes dangerous. Definitely not my favorite way to shop

2. The place is clean, organized, and has a nice bathroom + water fountains. They also have very modern scales at checkout that work well and fast. It’s much better than anything I’ve seen before.

Overall, a nice bins location and I’d gladly check it out again.

This place is not like an ordering goodwill. Things are just thrown into bins, and you are expected to dig through them to find things that you want. It seems like they do try to organize stuff in the bins like they throw things that are alike in the same bin. If you're gonna come to the store and you're looking for something specific, It's all up to luck in this store. I would suggest bringing gloves to dig through the bins. Because there might be broken glass or something dangerous that can poke your hands or you don't want to touch something nasty. If you do forget your gloves, they do have a bathroom so you can wash your hands. Big furniture like tables and beds are kept in the back wall of the building. There were a lot of people who looked like racesellers there, They were looking through the electronics and stuff like that. If I did find something there that piqued my interest. I set it to one side of me, and somebody would just come up and take it. I guess one mistake I made was not grabbing a cart even if I didn't end up getting anything at the end.
One thing that is definitely different from regular goodwill's, is that items are not paid individually. You have to weigh them by categories. And you must pay by the weight of the item Pile.

This was an OK experience, however, you would need to spend at least a few hours sorting through the bins. I would wear a pair of gloves and a mask. The bins are not organized by category and I had even discovered a pair of soiled underwear at the bottom of the bins, super gross! The amount of dust flying in the air mixed with pollen from the outside was intense for me. I went on a Monday morning and was surprised how full and crowded the parking lot was. This may not be the best environment for someone who easily gets overstimulated by crowds and loud noises. The staff routinely rotate out the bins into the milieu and shoppers are on standby like hawks, so if you are a timid shopper, then this probably won't be the most pleasant of shopping experiences. I did find three cute tops and my fiancé found some interesting books. The prices are a good deal, but take precautions and go early in the morning during the weekday!

Thank you for the response. Had to add a star for a large retailer like your self to take the time to respond. Can't wait to see you next time I am in town.

Employees need to speak clearly, they yell at you but you can not underatand what is said. Same with loud speaker, if you want someone to listen you need a speaker that isn't distorting the voice. Other than that great location. People working the registers provided great customer service. I would suggest having the employees in the back checked.

There was an individual on the floor telling others exactly where too look in the bins as they were coming out. Would look at phone and then let others with them know exactly where to look and what color to grab in a bin of clothing that was just rolled out. Just seemed odd to me and probably has a friend working in the back.

It's best to go on weekdays during the day, it gets extremely busy. For some reason the cashier was haggling me on prices, tried to charge me 8 for a folding table, changed it to 3 when I said that's too much and I'll put it back. Charged me 10 dollars for a fan that had a 5 dollar price tag on it, I didn't notice until I got home. Not really sure what's going on here, are they giving their cashiers commission or something? It's worth your time but be careful at the checkout.
