Love the place. The staff are phenomenal. Food is top tier. Way too much resources for the homeless youth. 10/10. The only issue is that the building is a bit far if you live downtown, or anywhere else. Otherwise nothing wrong with Homeplate in my opinion.

It was actually extremely disheartening to find out that the girls that work here are all bad. Very bad, don't care at all about the people that come in. You kind of get that vibe, but get reassured when you see the flyers up that say they are trained or have some sort of training, and have emotional intelligence, and the fact they do "out reach", where they try to find homeless youth to help at their shelter, because they supposedly get many grants. But go off the rails very quickly, and will just steal your mail if it's useful to them. $1000 benches were donated? Like 6 of them, but clearly you can't stay on the property if your parents kick you out and not that very many people come at all anymore. When I first came, it seemed like a healthier environment, or lot more different faces, and like a chill common spot for the youth, but then problems just kept arising and things get disappearing and kids have arguments, and now there's like no one at all. Fullappreciation to the people that still come in to do dinners. But not worth it all if you genuinely need support. And the girls will bully you themselves, and like invite you on trips but just to make you feel left out, because they immediately don't like you, and so make you feel even more stuck in your position. And will go out of their way to ruin opportunities for you, if you ask them if they help with work services, or training, and then make a whole group a couple weeks later and expect you not to go, because you've clearly, before even getting to participate, have been denied group activity, with little toy no conversation, because you're homeless. Which makes no sense. That is my personal experience, and every one can gossip about that, but I find that extremely absurd and cruel, and I'm not the only one who's felt this way. And when it comes down to you coming every week to eat, it's a problem. I had expected to get back on my feet easily, with their help, but it just became a bigger issue and made me look completely stupid, because clearly that means I'm destined to be homeless forever and society has rejected me so I'm useless and don't deserve to be alive. Really appreciate it, "activists" reasserting familial abuse! I am incompetent! I am useless! I don't care about anyone or anything! We are the same! You just have money and I don't. And I did not come with demons of my own, and tried to make sure I wasnt stepping on "toes", but then they just turned it into a game, because it was funny. So there's really no way to address or avoid being treated like completely trash. And then no progress or working towards a better/safer future, because you don't "deserve" it. Or whatever, because they're aliens and they already "know", and then they basically go crazy mode and assassinate everyone on your team, and any normal concepts, while saying stuff like "they tried to barry you but didn't know you were a seed", but then snip your growth and rip you out of the soul to throw you in the trash whe

The place provides a much needed service. Homeless or troubled youth can come here for a shower, to do their laundry, have someone to talk to, and basically have their life supported without judgment. It is run by a caring staff who genuinely cares about making the world a better place. I recommend supporting these people any way you can.

I've never been here, but I used to live on the property before it was this facility. It was a little house that was converted into 4 apartments and I lived upstairs. It was my first apartment! I loved it, it was mine and my first morning, I awoke to the sounds of Beaverton high school marching band practice! I love that my little home has turned into such a wonderful place for youth to go to! That's amazing!💛💜🥰
