So, this DIY home boutique in Portland is called The Color Shop. They sell Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, Iron Orchid Designs (IOD Designs), Modern Masters, General Finishes, and Saltwash. They also have vintage and antique finds, housewares, lighting, and gifts. And if you're looking to give your furniture a makeover, they offer custom painting services and even have some custom pieces already done. They also do decorative painting for furniture, cabinets, walls, floors, and more! They offer group workshops and one-on-one workshops so you can learn how to do it yourself. And if you need help with a painting project, they offer consulting services too.

Molly is a very gracious artist and business woman. Her new location in Lloyd Center is a delightful shop.

This is a must visit business! If you are into upcycling, creating, and have an interest in Annie Sloan, IOD paint inlays, moulds, transfers, stamps, and items with creative texture you must stop by. Located in Lloyd Center next to the ice rink, upon entering you feel as though you walked into another world with enhancements and beauty.

I've been in this store three times and Molly has solved my dilemma every time. I was on a mission the first time so I missed a lot, just focusing on picking out colors and figuring out how to make the color of wood, like mahogany. She took a stick, painted it with "Barcelona" orange, put dark wax on and wiped it back. Bingo!

The second time, I came looking for colors to match fabric and that's when she showed me the book that takes a color and mixes it 50/50 with each color. So I looked at Louis Blue to see what it looked like mixed with every last color.

I'd left something behind so I had to go back, and that's when I saw all the fun stuff for sale. I mentioned wishing I had a better sense of what colors look best next to each other, and that's when Molly showed me this fabulous book Annie Sloan put together. Each color is paired 50/50 with Old White. That's on the left and beneath is the perfect contrasting color for both the full- strength and half-n-half. Then there are accenting color suggestions beneath what that original color looks like when varying amounts of white are added. In the middle of each page are swatches of complimentary fabric you can order. I think Molly said wallpaper is next.

As great as the store and all it holds is, Molly is the draw.
