I had a very positive experience at Jewelry Appraisers of Portland and will definitely return for any future appraisal needs. John was extremely professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and friendly. His passion for his work is apparent. He shared a wealth of knowledge about the piece I brought in & I left feeling inspired by its history. I appreciated that it was easy to book an appointment and that he performed the appraisal within 30 minutes right in front me. He also wrote the report immediately so I was able to leave with my jewelry and documents. Copies of the report and photos were emailed to us as well. Highly recommend!

I brought an heirloom piece for appraisal and it was a wonderful experience. The 1 on 1 interaction helped me learn a lot more about the piece, and the process was fascinating to watch. John was very professional and pleasant, I highly recommend his business and look forward to returning the next time I need something appraised.

John at Jewelry Appraisers of Portland is fantastic. I loved the sit and watch approach to the appraisal instead of having to send it off somewhere or the appraiser hides away in a back room. I enjoyed how he walked me through the entire process and even let me take a look at my ring under the microscope so that I know what to look for to know that its mine. He offered great advice about cleaning and wear-and-tear for which to be on the lookout. I highly recommend, this place is reasonably priced, and the appraisal was done very professional manner.

Wonderful experience with John in late calendar 2019 - appraised multiple items for a fair price, was kind to let me know items that didn't need appraisal. I visited John again late summer 2022 for additional items I thought had some value, but they did not. John was very kind to not charge. I highly recommend his services if you are in need of jewelry appraisal.

I had an item appraised that was a gift. I had no idea if it was valuable. John was very helpful and friendly. He was also very thorough and I appreciated that parking was available right outside the building. I will definitely use his services again.
