Excellent experience with McLaren Auction Services! The listings were very detailed, the bidding process was smooth, and the customer service was top-notch. It was my FIRST experience bidding online for a live auction. I bid and won a 5’ tall Wizard Spiral Gumball machine I had been seeking for sometime. I bought it at a great price and amazing condition! When I picked up the Gumball machine at the auction house, I was greeted by the owner Gary who was so welcoming and knowledgeable and who even helped me load the oversized piece securely. I very much look forward to purchasing from Gary at McLaren Auction Services again - it was such a great experience from start to finish! THANK YOU!!!

I have been dealing with this auction house for years without incident. Since they have there new “app” which doesn’t work although you are directed to it, I was then told to bid on Spirit bid. I did bid on that platform the first day the auction came out. I bid on 2 paintings. I then called McClaren and was told to bid on their regular website. I explained that I had already bid on their regular other site and I just wanted to make sure my bids would be received. They assured me they would be. My max bid on each painting was $200. When the auction ended I check and both paintings had each sold for $200. BUT, I DIDNT WIN. So then I called the auction house and was told that I should have bid on their website.
So to recap. I first went to there app and it didn’t work. I was directed to bid on spirit bid. I called the auction house to make sure my bids would be received. Auction ends and they don’t have my bids. Bottom line is one of the paintings was painted by my Grandpa. This auction house sucks and I will never even look at their auctions again.

I bought several lots of Victorian porcelain. They do not describe damage in their descriptions and do not take photos of damaged areas either. As I unpacked my boxes which were jam packed full of 1800s-1900's porcelain, bits and pieces were falling onto my lap. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I have $400 plus $200 in shipping into a bunch of crumbling bits and pieces of history that are now lost forever. I was excited to find this auction house but after this experience, they cannot be trusted. No sense in calling as their Terms and Conditions specifically state they don't refund a dime, not even for crumbling porcelain that was not described as such. What a shame.

Gary came highly recommended to help me with the selling of my mothers things. I found him to be friendly, respectful, kind, knowledgeable, and over all very honest. I felt and feel that I could trust him with my items when I am ready to sell them. If you are thinking about having Gary auction your things don't hesitate, call him right away. You won't be sorry.
